The portrayal of Mozart in Amadeus is crap. Mozart wasn’t an childish idiot or a fool. He’s the greatest composer ever. This film makes me so angry.
I suggest that you have a look at Paul Grabsky’s doco ‘In search of Mozart’. It is much more balanced. A number of the musicians interviewed in the doco are crtical of the portrayal of Mozart in Amadeus. CSU Library has a copy of the doco on DVD.
