In 2006 the Division of Library Services conducted a review of bibliographic management software. The review recommended that the existing ProCite™ software which had been in use at Charles Sturt University since 1999, be replaced by EndNote™. EndNote™ has become the default standard for bibliographic software in both Australia and overseas universities; it is easier and more intuitive to use than ProCite™.
The Division of Information Technology (DIT) and Library Services have recently completed stakeholder testing of EndNote™ to ensure that it is compatible with current university platforms and software.
Windows and Mac versions of EndNote™ version X.02 can be accessed from staff offices and the student computer labs. Staff and postgraduate students who need to install EndNote™ on university computers should download the software. Check ‘DIT Core Software Application for Staff’ for access.
The Division of Library Services website now includes a EndNote site on the Research Support page. It contains links to resources for the installation and use of EndNote™, including step-by-step instructions for transferring records from an existing ProCite™ database.
