2006 Census data

The first data from the 2006 Census will be released on 27 June 2007

The first release will include QuickStats, MapStats and Census Tables.

QuickStats is a summary of key Census data relating to persons, families and dwellings in local government areas, which can be compared with Australian figures. The summaries include age breakdowns; a selection of birthplaces, languages and religions; employment information etc.

MapStats are thematically mapped Census statistics. The maps depict selected population, ethnicity, education, family, income, labour force and dwelling characteristics.

Census Tables have data on particular geographic areas, or specific topics. The tables contain characteristics of persons, families and dwellings, enabling comparisons to be made on a number of social, economic and demographic variables.
