Setting up alerts for journal table of contents and database searches

Alerts for journal table of contents and subject searches can be set up in many Library databases and electronic journals. Updated search results and new contents lists (alerts) are then automatically forwarded to you via email or as an RSS.

The Library’s Information & Faculty Liaison staff can assist you to set up alerts for specific journals or databases. Contact details are here. Wagga staff and students please contact Greg.

Academic staff and postgraduate students who wish to know how to set up alerts should arrange a training session with the Library’s Faculty Liaison staff, using Book-a-Librarian (Research skills three).

Important notes!

If you have recently moved to CSU from another university, you will need to create new set of alerts using the CSU subscription to the particular database or journal links to the full text of articles included in an alert, will normally only work when you are on-campus, ie. the link (URL) will not include the proxy server prefix normally required to identify remote users as CSU staff or students.
