Yes, things do change! The feedback and comments from the last Library survey resulted in these changes:
- Access enabled to all offshore students, including those studying at partner institutions
- Longer loan periods for DE students to all online Library resources and services
- Longer loan periods for students on practicum and placements
- Complete redesign of the Library website
- Introduction of free InterLibrary Loans to support Researchers
- Redesign of the Library catalogue
- Purchase of extra resources in nominated areas such as nursing, pharmacy, education
- The purchase of books, textbooks and recommended readings in ebook format
- 40,000 of CSU’s 41,000 journal titles switched from print to online format
- Thousands of extra journals purchased
- Many new journal databases purchased
- Development of Library blogs, podcasts, Watch-it tutorials and self help guides
- Development of Learning Commons at Orange, Bathurst and Thurgoona
- Laptops available for loan at all campus Libraries
- More resources to support research
- Purchase of more DVDs, CDs, novels and graphic fiction
- Development of RSS feeds
- Development of collections to support research at CSU
- Purchase of more group tables, comfy sofas and chairs
- Increase in hours for the 1800 help desk service
- Development of Parents’ rooms for students with kids at Orange (opening 2009) and Thurgoona (opening later this year)
