Australian Heritage Week kicks of this Saturday and there is a lot on!
As an annual national celebration of Australia’s unique heritage there are events all around the nation celebrating all the things that make up Australia’s identity.
We’d like to highlight a few of the more local events and heritage resources.
In 2015 Bathurst celebrates its Bicentenary with over 100 events that mark the past, present and future of Australia’s first inland settlement. Governor Macquarie raised the Union Jack on the banks of the Macquarie River on 7 May 1815 declaring it a town. A week long festival celebrating 200 years as a town is happening from 2-10 May 2015. for more details see the bathurst200 website
CSU has its own regional archive hosting university records, an art collection and state archives. Some of these resources are open to the public. More information on their web page, and check out some of the amazing historic photos from their collection on flickr
