On the 22nd of May 2019, Charles Sturt University Libraries took part in the National Simultaneous Storytime event (NSS) run by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). The event was a huge success, with over 80 children visiting our campuses, and students, staff and our Vice Chancellor Professor Andy Vann reading to the children.
It was hoped that over 1 million children across Australia would take part in the NSS this year, and learn the value of reading, books and literacy. The children who attended NSS at our campus Libraries also got the added bonus of craft activities, musical performances and Alpacas with Maracas stickers! We would like to say a special thank you to everyone who took part in our NSS event this year – this colourful and vibrant experience is a great chance to highlight the importance of children’s literacy, and the fun that can be had when reading together.
Please contact us at the Library if you have any questions about National Simultaneous Storytime, or are interested in taking part in next years NSS event in the Library!
