Next year has been declared the National year of Reading.
To mark this, a short story competion has been launched by Writing Australia. This new body is
funded by the Australian Council Literature board and will promote and foster Australian writers.
Twelve published writers will each win $3,000 and nine unpublished writers $1,000 for short stories about the struggles and triumphs of adults learning to read.
Email your entry of up to 3,000 words to Writing Australia by 5pm, August 5th.
